First of all, check if you have all the necessary ingredients for this recipe. Pay attention to the quantities!

1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
2-3 medium-sized tomatoes, thinly sliced
Fresh basil leaves
Extra-virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste

The Steps

Next, follow the steps to finalize your dish and finally be able to enjoy it!

Preheat your oven to the highest temperature (usually 500°F or 260°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to preheat as well.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into your desired shape and thickness.
Carefully transfer the rolled-out dough onto a piece of parchment paper.
Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Arrange the sliced mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by the tomato slices.
Season with salt and pepper to taste and drizzle a little olive oil over the top.
Transfer the pizza along with the parchment paper onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the pizza from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
Allow the pizza to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
